Meet Orla

Two decades of building businesses and community in Oakville.

Orla Johnston has spent her career solving practical problems — in boardrooms, in her own businesses and alongside the Oakville business community.

She holds a degree in Urban Development from Western University and has held management and senior management roles at Panasonic, Bell Mobility and Qualcomm / Kyocera Wireless. Throughout her career, she has provided leadership in managing corporate budgets in excess of $500 million.

She founded a marketing firm serving the technology sector and today leads Terava Sales, an Oakville-based wholesale distribution business representing more than 30 consumer brands including Google, Amazon, Ring, Dell and Epson.

Over two decades of involvement with the Oakville Chamber of Commerce — including eight years on the Board, eight years as Chair of the Marketing Committee, four years on the Executive, and a term as Chair — she has worked closely with residents, businesses, all levels of government and community organizations on issues that shape this town.

"Growth should improve our community — not overwhelm it."
